Uncle Ben

As of 23:20 15/4/07, I'm an Uncle, and I finally met my Niece Ella today after work.

She's beautifull, although I haven't seen her awake properly yet, so that should be an experience.

New RSKonline site

I did a re-design for the rskonline.co.uk site, with different colours, a better gallery, a buy stuff page and an integrated podcast page.

I also made a cut-down version for mobiles, find it at: www.m.rskonline.co.uk

It features the guestbook and a link to the flickr mobile site with the latest rskonline pictures.

Annoyingly Blogger has forced me to go over to their new system for logging in and out which has messed up the styling for this blog page on benpascoe.co.uk, I'll have to have a go at tweaking it back to how it was soon.

Flickr Pro account + 8 Balls review

Loads of stuff's been happening recently, my little sister is 9 days over due to give birth, my big sister is about to move to Bristol to start training with the Police, I bought a new camera and a flickr Pro account to go with it and I've been catching up with a load of mates too.

My Flickr Page is still found at: flickr.com/photos/bgarthp

But it now has loads more pictures on there, and will be having plenty more put up soon I expect, my new Canon Ixus 60 is a fun camera to use and I'll be taking lot's more pic's with it.

The Latest issue of ThreeSixty is out now and it has details of how you can get 8 Balls through the orcasurf site and a nice review of it too, pretty pleased with the review, hopefully a few more people will get over to 8balls.co.uk to get their copy of the DVD.

I expect I'll be an uncle when I put my next post up, should be interesting...

Everythings Good

I'm having a great time right now, the 8Balls DVD finally finished and on sale, finally out of my overdraft for the first time in years, the surfs been good and looks good for the next week and what do I see in my inbox?

A message telling me that Max Tundra is playing a DJ set this Thursday in Bristol, and it's the first day off of my 3 days off rotation!

I couldn't be happier, now I just need to check my lottery ticket which I bought about a week ago to make sure it's a winner and I'll be sorted.

Surfing is more fun than Filming

Finally not feeling guilty about going surfing when it's good instead of filming.

Now that 8 Balls is finished and released (buy it through 8Balls.co.uk), I can enjoy guilt free surfing in decent waves, I look forward to many more sessions like this, James Diffey took the photo's.

You can see more oni my Flickr page: flickr.com/photos/bgarthp/

Also, I finally put up a profile thing on Facebook, which handily imports via rss, so this blog will appear there, and maybe my Flickr RSS feed too if it will let me. here's my profile: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=512881764

8 Balls DVD released!

After some delays with Chris Levis computer breaking and other problems, I eventually created the DVD menu systems, DVD sleeve and on-DVD artwork for the 8 Balls DVD and we have now had them duplicated.

I received the first batch through on Friday and imediately put them up for sale through the 8Balls.co.uk site, if you'd like a copy they're £19.99 including postage and you can pay through PayPal with your credit or debit card.

There should be a review of the DVD in the next issue of ThreeSixty magazine, look forward to reading it, and for some feedback from the first customers who have bought it.

8 Balls is nearly finished!

Well my next DVD 8 Balls is very nearly finished, I've been making adverts for it over the last week or so, you can view them here:

1: Undagroundbodyboarding.com

I went out and filmed for a few hours with Matty Allen, founder of Undaground clothing, we shot a bunch of stuff in Plymouth with Matt and his dog Chance walking down to the beach, spliced it together with some of matts clothing designs and some of the print adverts that he made, and one wave I shot from the water a while ago:

2: GarnzCustomBodyboards.co.uk

Luke Garnsworthy has set up the second custom bodyboard shaping facility in the UK, and this advert shows off a few of the boards he's shaped so far.

I used pictures that he sent me with some relaxed music by Sigur Ros, I thought the repeating background he used in some of the pictures was a little too busy for video so I just used it for borders at the top and bottom and slow-mo'd a nice shot of a breaking wave for the background.

3: BodyboardHQ.co.uk

I had a few different ideas for this one, ended up using Google earth for a bit of a zoom in job on Portreath, then a couple of leftover waves from the BBHQ team riders to fill it out, I had a couple of hi-res shots from Portreath that George Heron shot which I was thining of uding, and a shot of Dave Heard, the shops owner, which I haven't used either:

And that's all the adverts so far, the main film will be released on DVD hopefully for the night of the 26th January to coincide with the premiere in Exeter.
